Robyn! Who embellished this leaf and left it attached to the plant at Reading festival.

We invited our friend Tess, the creative wonder in charge of art at SGP, to judge… and just KNEW she’d be bang on! Here’s the short-list we gave her, and the points she awarded them each.
“Julia’s pumpkin was beautiful, it takes a lot of skill and the whole think didn’t collapse – 11 points!
Grinandbearit risked expulsion and potentially missed vital bunsen burner practicals to scale classroom furniture and put this up – brave lad! - 10 points!
Charlotte displayed near borrower-like attention to detail and has very nice nails – 7 points!
Pheobe worked the tin foil look and a nice choice of beast! - 7 points!
Jake made a conscious primate visit but I think this particular Gorilla looks a little miffed to be interrupted - 7 points!
My favorite is…… Robyn… her inventive approach is subtle and I can see her sitting there in a merri hood pricking away! - Of course, here at the Garden, we don’t condone the destruction of nature but I think this particular leaf would be happy to give his health over to such a deserving cause.. It’s in some ways the most subtle approach but if I chanced upon this at a festival I would be a Merri Making fan forever! 83 points! - the winner – hurrah!”
Pictures of the other entries to follow soon.
Competition now open for December (and a new Gorilla hood being sewn today)
